DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN LUANG PRABANG

Upon arrival in Luang Prabang Airport, get picked up and transferred to your hotel downtown for check-in. The remainder of the day is yours relax or stroll around to make the acquaintance with the city.

DAY 2: CITY TOUR & PAK OU CAVES

Breakfast at the hotel, meet your tour guide and driver again and set out for the whole day to explore Luang Prabang and its surroundings.
This morning, you will tour the ancient town of Luang Prabang. The first place is Phousi Hill where you will take a hike up to its summit for admiring the panoramic view over the city. Followed by Wat Mai, a beautiful Buddhist temple and might be the most richly decorated of the temples in Luang Prabang. After that, you will move on to the Royal Palace Museum. The next stop is the magnificent temple of Wat Xiengthong. With its classical Laotian style, it is the oldest one in the city.
Lunch is served at a restaurant.
In the afternoon, take a long-tailed boat for a 2-hour upstream ride on Mekong River to visit Pak Ou Caves. The caves are located in sheer limestone cliffs, these include two large caves and both of them repositories for thousands of Buddha images. Along the boat ride, you will enjoy peaceful countryside scenery with villages and gardens on the banks. Before ending the day, make a stop at Ban Xanghai village to witness how Lao’s traditional rice wine distilled. You may want to try a sip and feel.
The evening is on your own discovery.

DAY 3: RURAL EXPERIENCE & KUANG SI WATERFALLS

Having breakfast at your hotel and get ready for another day out.
Get picked up and drive to the Living Land Farm. This is a working community farm. Here, you are able to experience real farming life like a farmer, from selecting seeds to sowing, plowing, transplanting, harvesting, threshing, and cooking. Have a hearty local meal with organic ingredients on the farm.
The afternoon, transfer to the Kuang Si Waterfall. The waterfall has 3 tiers leading to a 50-meter drop into shallow pools, before flowing downstream. You can swim in the topaz pool of the waterfall, (please remember to bring your swim gear with you for this activity). From here, you also can walk along the forest trails and visit the Bear Sanctuary. On the way back to Luang Prabang, take a short visit to the Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center, set serenely close to the Mekong, this beautiful, traditionally styled workshop, where weavers, spinners and batik makers produce top-quality fabrics, offers free tours every half-hour. This is also one of the best spots to admire the sunset in Luang Prabang.

DAY 4: LUANG PRABANG – VANG VIENG

Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch

Accommodation: Hotel in Vang Vieng

After breakfast, check-out and depart from Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng. This morning drive is pretty scenic. On the way, there will be some stops for photographs opportunities when you wish. Some typical ones include local school at Ban Huay Sala, a hill tribe village of H’mong ethnic groups; Pha Hom market; Khmu hill tribe at Ban Phouhin Lekphay. The last stop at Phatang Mountain viewpoint is also impressive with beautiful scenery.
Arrive in Vang Vieng, check-in your hotel and refreshment.
In the afternoon, take your time to enjoy the tubing along Nam Song River. This activity is very popular amongst the backpackers. It’s really fun on nice exciting days.

DAY 5: VANG VIENG (KAYAKING & CAVING)

Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch

Accommodation: Hotel in Vang Vieng

Approximately: 15-minute transfer, 4.5 hours (wet season) 3.5 hours (dry season) kayaking, 1.5-hour caving/walking.

This morning, take an 18-km drive north of Vang Vieng to Phatang Resort. After an introduction to the basics of kayaking, you will set off down the beautiful Nam Song River which offers various small but fun rapids along the way to our first stop at Tham Xang Cave, spend time to discover this amazing hollow mountain. After emerging from the cave, short kayaking leads you to a picnic spot on the riverside where the lunch will be prepared and served.
In the afternoon, continue down the river until the next stop at the Organic Farm where mulberry tea and a variety of different fruit wines are produced. Keep moving downstream until you reach Tham Nam Cave. This is one of the largest caves in Vang Vieng! It served as a bomb shelter for local villagers during the Second Indochina War. The final leg of the adventure is a gentle paddle downstream to Vang Vieng where we will arrive just in time to catch the sunset.

DAY 6: VANG VIENG – VIENTIANE

Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch

Accommodation: Hotel in Vientiane

The morning drive today takes you to the capital city of Laos, Vientiane. This city is the charming and fascinating capital of Laos. This city conjures up exotic images, with the curious mix of Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, French influences. En route, we will make a short stop at the H’Mong market at Km52. Check-in your hotel on arrival and spend the afternoon exploring the city with some featured sites such as Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple; Haw Prakeo, the former royal temple of Laos monarchy; the imposing Patuxay Monument, well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. The last one if the famous That Luang Stupa. The evening is yours.

DAY 7: DEPARTURE FROM VIENTIANE

Meals: Breakfast

Accommodation: Not available

It depends on your flight time, you may have the whole morning to do your own things in Vientiane or just take it easy at the hotel. Get picked up by your private driver and head to the airport for the departure flight. End of service.
