This Thailand and Myanmar tour of 18 days delivers a colorful mix of must-see cities (Bangkok, Yangon, Mandalay, Chiang Mai), and the mystical charms of Bagan Temples. DAY 1: BANGKOK ARRIVAL

Welcome to Bangkok, Thailand!
On arrival and after having cleared the custom, you will meet your Thai tour guide and be escorted to the hotel. After check-in, the rest of the day is at leisure.


DAY 2: BANGKOK SIGHTSEEING
Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch

Breakfast at the hotel, on this tour, you will spend two days to explore the highlights of Bangkok. Today, start from the colorful flower and vegetable market and then head to the dazzling Grand Palace. You could appreciate the beauty of its buildings, and the sacred Wat Phra Kaew inside the palace.
After lunch, ride a long-tail boat cruising along the canal. It will offer you a chance to see traditional Thai houses and true Thai life. The final stop is fantastic Wat Arun, a temple whose design is very different from the others in Bangkok. Get back to the hotel late in the afternoon.


DAY 3: AUTHENTIC BANGKOK

After breakfast, set out with a short transfer outside of Bangkok to visit The Train Market. There are enormous shrimp, bright red lobsters, tons of squid and big, big fish actually caught in Burmese waters. Then you will enter the famous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Sit down and take your pictures, try some mango and sticky rice or hot soup with fish balls. And then you will get back to Bangkok for a tour to Jim Thompson House before you are escorted back to your hotel for some leisure time on your own.


DAY 4: BANGKOK - FLY TO YANGON

Check-out your hotel after breakfast. Get picked up and head to the airport for your morning flight to Yangon, Myanmar.
Upon arrival at Yangon airport, you will be met and greeted by your local tour guide. He and the driver will escort you to your hotel for check-in. You will have time at leisure until late afternoon. Before sunset, meet your tour guide again and pay a visit to the golden Shwedagon Pagoda, the most revered Buddhist temple in Myanmar.


DAY 5: YANGON SIGHTSEEING

Our guide will pick you up at your hotel and lead you on a full-day sightseeing tour to discover the former capital - Yangon. You will hear about the colonial architecture, religious buildings and parks and feel the real Yangon.
The first stop will be the Sule Pagoda—a Burmese stupa located in the heart of downtown. After that, you will intermingle with locals in one of the colorful local markets before heading to the Strand Hotel for a drink. Before lunch, you’ll visit the reclining Buddha known as Chauk Htat Gyi (reclining Buddha). Enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant with popular cuisines in Burma such as Kachin, Shan, and Rakhine.
In the afternoon, get to a small station and hop on the famous circular train for a 30- to 45-minute ride. Enjoy the slow pace of this antique railway used by locals, monks, and vendors. The train will bring you right behind Bogyoke Aung San Market at the center of Yangon. You'll have time to explore the city's largest selection of Burmese handicrafts before return to the hotel and relax for the rest of the day.


DAY 6: YANGON - FLY TO BAGAN

Today take a morning flight to the ancient city of Bagan. Upon arrival, you start to visit the colorful market town of Nyaung U and Bagan's most significant shrines - the Shwezigon Pagoda and Htilominlo Temple.
In the afternoon, pay a visit to a lacquer-ware workshop to see Myanmar's most treasured handicrafts before exploring the amazing mural paintings at the Myingaba Gu Byaukgyi Temple. Later on, watch the sunset over the Shwesandaw Pagoda.


DAY 7: EXCURSION TO MOUNT POPA

This morning, start a scenic drive to Mount Popa. Along the way, stop by a local village to learn about local culture and lifestyle.. The solitary volcanic crag of Mt. Popa is home to Myanmar's most powerful "nats". Visit the Nat Museum with its life-sized statues of the 37 Nat Gods. Walk up the steps to the stupas and shrines that top the hill above the museum, seeing many pilgrims along the way. The way by the roadside can see the locals climbing up the palm tree and making jaggery. Have lunch at a hill resort. Get back to Bagan to visit Ananda Temple and then relax in your hotel for the remainder of the day.


DAY 8: BAGAN - FLY TO HEHO - INLE LAKE

Catch a flight to Heho in the morning and drive to the beautiful Inle Lake. This lake is the second largest lake in Myanmar, located 900 meters above sea level and is home to the Intha people, famous for their one leg rowing technique.
Upon arrival, board a motorboat for a sightseeing tour to Phaungdawoo Pagoda, famed for its richly gilded five small Buddha images. This pagoda is also believed to be the holiest in Inle Lake. The next visit is Ngaphechaung Monastery, known as “jumping cat” pagoda. As you travel further toward Nam Pan village the cotton and lotus weaving factories and cigar making houses will impress you with true traditional Intha life. Check-in a hotel in Inle for the night.


DAY 9: INLE LAKE EXCURSION

This morning, you will visit the “5 Days Market” which is held in different villages surrounding the lake. It is definitely a fascinating place to enjoy the scene of local tribes in their colorful clothes and exotic market atmosphere.
In the afternoon, the boat will take you to a beautiful temple of Indein. The temple's location is on the hill overlooking the lake. It will be relaxing to walk along the corridor and enjoy the giant columns that have been left to nature for centuries.


DAY 10: INLE LAKE - HEHO - MANDALAY

Accommodation: Hotel in Mandalay
After breakfast, the morning drive takes you to Nyaung Shwe and visit Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery, which is more than 150 years old. This monastery is a favorite of photographers because of its unusual oval-shaped windows. You should also not missed the Shwe Yan Pyay Pagoda just beside the monastery. There is a cave-like corridor around the stupa and the walls are decorated with amazing glass mosaic and also have many buddhas in the niches. Carrying on the drive to Heho and take a flight to Mandalay.
Upon arrival, proceed directly to enjoy a sunset on the boat to view the 1.2km long U Bein Bridge which is 162 years old. Check-in your hotel and relax.


DAY 11: MANDALAY SIGHTSEEING

Today you will visit City Harbor Bridge and continue to Sagaing Hill, a retreat for Buddhist devotees. The afternoon's tour includes some of the city's most interesting temples and palaces. Begin with Mahamuni Pagoda, the image enshrined here is perhaps the most venerated image in Myanmar, covered in over 15 cm thickness of gold leaf, Shwenandaw Monastery (Shwe Kyaung), the Golden Teak Monastery. Then to Kuthodaw Pagoda, known also as the world’s biggest book. Finally, enjoy the spectacular sunset at Mandalay Hill, 230 meters in elevation, commands a magnificent view of the city and surrounding countryside.


DAY 12: MANDALAY - FLY CHIANG MAI (THAILAND)

Accommodation: Hotel in Chiang Mai
After breakfast, drive to Amarapura to visit Mahagandayon Monastery where more than a thousand monks live and study the Buddha scripture. If time permits, you will have the opportunity to observe the monks having their last meal of the day in total silence.
And then drive to the airport for flight to Chiang Mai. After a short rest upon arrival, we'll drive to the quaint and picturesque Meow Hill tribe village. Continue to visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, a highly revered temple that sits on the top of Mount Doi Suthep overlooking Chiang Mai.


DAY 13: CHIANG MAI ELEPHANT PARK
Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch
Accommodation: Hotel in Chiang Mai
As usual, Breakfast is at the hotel. Meet your guide again and start the day tour with a short drive to visit one of the popular Elephants Camp, where you can see the Elephants at work. You have a chance to ride the elephants crossing the river into the forest. Then return by Oxcart to the elephant village to have lunch. After lunch, enjoy a bamboo rafting adventure along the river for around 45 minutes. Onwards to an orchid farm where there are many beautiful species of orchid. And after that going back to the hotel and free at leisure for the remainder of the day.


DAY 14: CHIANG MAI HALF-DAY COOKING CLASS
Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch
Accommodation: Hotel in Chiang Mai
Today you will learn to cook some of the most famous Thai dishes at Asia Scenic – one of the best cooking schools in Chiang Mai. After you select the menus you want to cook, you’ll get started with a local market tour to select the freshest and best ingredients for your menu. Enjoy the guidance of the chef and prepare your own meal, then evaluate yourself by having what you have cooked for lunch! The afternoon will be free for your own leisure.


DAY 15: CHIANG MAI - FLY TO BANGKOK - HUA HIN

Accommodation: Hotel in Hua Hin
This morning, take your time for breakfast and you can enjoy some leisure time before taking the flight back to Bangkok. And then you will be escorted to your hotel in Hua Hin (about 3 hours drive). for the next couple of days to be at beach leisure before flying home.

DAY 16 & 17: HUA HIN BEACH RELAXATION

DAY 18: HUA HIN - BANGKOK - DEPARTURE

Today is your last day! It depends on your departure time, you may have the whole morning to enjoy the area.
Check-out of your hotel and take the 3-hour transfer back to Bangkok and straight to the airport for your departure flight. (You are advised to be at the airport at least 2 hours before the airplane takes off.).
